1. System Exports
Data from your Student Information System and your Other Systems can be imported into the All-In-One Data Center. This is done using an Import Utility designed for the NJSMART format.
2. Data Error Clean-Up
Missing fields, for example, County of Resident, can be mass filled with default values established or mass calculated, for example, Year of Graduation, using an algorithm. Data can be edited using the Web-based Interface. Error Checking is built into the All-In-One Data Center, which allows the District to validate all their Data prior to a State submission. In seconds, not hours and not days the District errors can easily be identified and corrected.
3. Extraction Snap Shots
Using Cimple's Wizard, the District's Data is extracted from Centralized Database and converted into the NJSMART format. For example, dates will be converted to year/month/day format.
4. More to be Collected
This is only the tip of the iceberg. These initial forty-three (43) data elements will be used to create a State Identification Number for every student in New Jersey. Once completed, NJSMART will require Districts to send much more data.
5. Future Possibilities
An All-In-One Data Center can help a District look at student data over time so that student performance can be improved by including test scores, teacher grades, standards, daily attendance, etc.
